From the moment I started wearing makeup, baking was the THING and to this day it still is. I mean how can it not be when it means fewer touch-ups, less creasing, and less eyeliner smudging throughout your day/night. If you ever wondered where this technique came from, the process of baking is a technique started by the drag community, which basically gives your makeup a long-lasting creaseless, poreless, and flawless finish. I feel like once you start baking it’s so hard to stop, even when I used to do my no-makeup makeup looks with just concealer, I still used to bake. So many people think baking takes a lot of time, but I find that 2 minutes is enough, you shouldn’t bake for too long because that’s when you get flashback! However, as we all know the under-eye area is a delicate area of skin that should be nurtured and cared for tenderly and seeing as baking kind of dries out your skin to reduce oil, should it really be “baked?” Is baking bad for our under eyes?
The skin surrounding the eye is thin and delicate and is where we show our first signs of ageing. It is this area that first starts to crease and wrinkle as we age. If you see the bags and dark circles I have accumulated under my eyes since freshers, it’s actually tragic. I need to invest in an eyecream ASAP😭. There are no oil glands surrounding our eyes, which is why eye cream is so imperative in halting the ageing process and why black don’t crack because we take moisturising very seriously. Keeping this area hydrated and plump is a must to keep a youthful look. Add to this the fact that blood pools naturally under the eyes, creating dark shadows which is why when moisturising this area it’s good to circulate it to get the blood vessels going. The problem with using a translucent powder to set the under-eye is that it tends to get caught in fine lines and accentuate lines that were not visible without the powder. Clearly, with all of this to consider, it is no wonder there are millions of products for brightening, tightening, and lightening the under-eye area. Imagine the amount of money you could save on skincare if you stopped baking! This technique will age you beyond your years so if you choose to use it make sure it’s on special occasions because the technique that promised bright beauty will suddenly find you looking like you are dying a slow death in the Sahara Desert. Last year, Kim Kardashian herself aka the queen of baking even took to her website to announce to the world that’s she’s totally over beauty ‘baking’
Kimberley, South Africa, is home to the world’s largest diamond mine, also known as the “Big Hole.” Dug by humans and so large it is visible from space, the pit has yielded some of the world’s largest diamonds and made the De Beers name famous worldwide. Kimberley is the diamond-mining centre, and capital of Northern Cape province, South Africa. It lies near the Free State province border.
A little history lesson; Founded after the discovery of diamonds on farms in the area in 1869–71, the mining camp of Kimberley grew as a result of the intensive digging of the diamond-bearing pipe at the hill called Colesberg Koppie. The camp was named after John Wodehouse, 1st Earl of Kimberley, who was then British colonial secretary. The town of Kimberley was created in 1878 and incorporated into the Cape Colony in 1880.
Kimberley’s gardens and squares are dotted with memorials, including an equestrian statue of Rhodes. Important collections of Khoisan artefacts are in the Alexander McGregor Memorial Museum, and the Duggan-Cronin Bantu Gallery contains early 20th-century photographs of African miners. The city also has Anglican and Roman Catholic cathedrals.
So what actually is a near-space odyssey?? Well for £380,000 you get a private group space travel with the bloon company. Imagine being able to say that you have actually been to space, do you know how insane that sounds???? How many people besides astronauts can actually say that ??? Not a lot that’s for sure.
For me, this sounds like an absolute dream because I am one of those annoying people that is always questioning shit; such as did we actually land on the moon? What do astronauts do because it’s clear they don’t spend the majority of their time in space like your average job. Are we sure the earth isn’t flat and does the government genuinely watch and listen to everything we do? So this experience would be able to disprove my so-called ‘dumb’ conspiracy theories 🤣.
Astronauts have always described the view of earth from space as a life-changing experience. For me, I know for a fact that this entire experience would in some sort of way change the way I see life, I don’t know why I feel like this but do you know when people say they feel as though they’re in the presence of a greater being, whether or not that may be God, that is exactly how I would feel if i went to space and then seeing just how small the world is would make me feel some sort of way, as in it would make me appreciate everything a lot more. In addition to that, I think it would also make me feel so grateful because in reality this is a once in a lifetime experience and to be able to afford it is honestly a WOW.
Seeing as we now live in an environmentally cautious era – Bloon is a zero-emission vehicle that relies on a large ‘sail’ filled with static helium gas capable of lifting its capsule 22 miles into the earth’s atmosphere. Being devoid of any combustible fuels means that Bloon’s ascent is gentle, has zero impact on the environment, and is entirely noiseless. So if you can get on a plane, yacht or car you can definitely get on this feeling a lot less guilty.
Do take note that the Bloon pod is safe for children (those below 16 must be accompanied by an adult). A report from your physician and a simple medical checkup is needed to ensure you and your fellow Bloon travellers can enjoy the flight safely. The pod also holds up to four people and all bookings are subject to availability and weather conditions. We advise booking at least six months in advance to guarantee the desired date and time.

So a few weeks ago I did a post on winter foundations and I thought why not do one on winter concealers, I mean its’s only right! Concealer is honestly my favourite makeup product of all time. If I could only wear one makeup product for the rest of my life it would be concealer. No joke. Winter is literally where my skin is the driest meaning that I not only have to change my foundation but also my concealer because we cannot forget that your eyes are the most sensitive parts of your face, therefore, they need to stay hydrated at ALL TIMES meaning you need a hydrating concealer and to probably ditch the baking this winter. Dry winter skin is a real thing, people!!! So please listen to me when I say moisturising and eye cream is not enough to save your complexion from drying out, switching to more hydrating versions of all of your beauty products is ultimately your best bet! I don’t think men actually realise how hard and expensive it is being a girl 🙁
During winter we should be looking for creamier formulas that hydrate dry, flaky areas instead of accentuating them this means sticking to liquid or cream concealers.
Now, this is the holy grail of concealers, the texture 10/10, colour range 10/10, consistency 10/10. There is no one in this world that has a bad thing to say about this concealer. Everything about it is amazing and the best thing about it is that its not only hydrating but you can also apply it with your fingers!
So apparently this is the UK’s very own version of the Tarte shape tape concealer aka the one concealer that every US influencer swears by! I love this concealer but what I love more about it is the Price – for £4 you get the creamiest consistency and FULL coverage!
This is the OG drugstore concealer for us WOC. (If I were you I’d buy it from your local hair shop, it’s a lot cheaper at £2.99). This was the first-ever concealer I bought and I was literally obsessed, it is an exact dupe of the makeup forever foundation and has the most amazing finish/ coverage!
This is an exact dupe of the Nars radiant concealer and the amazing thing is that it’s only £5 so if you can’t bring yourself to pay £22 for one concealer then this is the one for you! The only problem is that you have to be fast when blending due to the thickness of the formula.
